Why I Do What I Do

I BELIEVE IN challenging the Status Quo.   I believe in Honesty, Integrity & Positivity.  I believe Your Ideas & Projects are Important and that anyone helping you with them should handle them with the utmost of care & sincerity. I believe a Web Project should flow and build in a calm, smooth and stress free fashion. I believe there is already enough stress in the world and that we should do our best to enjoy our lives and our businesses.  I LOVE being creative & finding solutions.  I LOVE asking the question “How Can I?” then watching the inspiration flow in.

I LOVE helping people improve their lives both personally and professionally – it makes me feel good inside.   I also love being creative – it’s in my blood.  For me, when I’m losing myself in a creation of mine, it’s like I’ve been holding my breath and then I finally breathe.  It’s not that first breath, it’s the second breath where you totally relax & feel safe.  It’s like coming home after a long trip. Know what I mean?
I also feel a great burning inside to help the community around me. So it’s just natural that I would use my extensive knowledge of websites, marketing & forward thinking to help other business professionals connect with their respective communities.  Everybody wins and that is honestly the only way I’ll do it.

I BELIEVE a Website should produce a real world and measurable outcome.  And that the entire website should work in unison towards achieving that outcome in the most cost effective way possible.

I BELIEVE IN carefully listening to YOU then applying my extensive knowledge of website design, web development, SEO, SEM, internet marketing & Buyer Mechanics™ to produce a Website That WORKS™ for You!!!… All in the most cost effective way possible!

First I get very clear about what your desired outcome is.  This is crucial.  I’ve had literally 100’s of hours of training on learning how to listen to people.  Often times it’s not what someone says that reveals what the true outcome of a website is, it’s what they don’t say.  I’ve become very effective at flushing out “real outcomes.”  Why is this so important?  Saying I want a website to promote my business is like saying I would like to travel to Mexico.  A worthwhile goal indeed.  However getting very clear about your outcome and focusing on it makes it significantly more achievable. Having a goal to “Travel to Mexico” is extremely general and honestly not very actionable. Saying, “Next November I want to travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for two weeks. I want to stay in a nice yet affordable hotel that has a very nice pool w/ activities, is on the beach and doesn’t cost more than $75/night for a family of 2 adults and 1 child.” This would illustrate a “starting point” of getting very specific about what it is someone wants. There will be things that “pop out” as being important to you and things that are less important. I listen to it all and then refine & condense it down to the core elements and often times suggest things that maybe you hadn’t thought of. I make sure your desired outcome fits a set of criteria to ensure it is 100% achievable.

You may be thinking, Wow that sounds like a lot of work. But the truth is it actually happens pretty fast. Depending on how much you have thought about what you want – this step can take anywhere from :15 minutes to 2 hours (in extreme cases). Again I can not stress this step enough, at least 50% of the work is done by having a well defined outcome. Not having a well defined outcome is like trying to drag race a 1/4 mile with two flat tires… your attempt is doomed before you ever even get your engine started.

Once the Outcome is established and we all know what to expect – I break things into smaller actionable phases & steps.  This will be our road map to success and your achieved outcome.

I do Websites That WORK™ they are different than what most other Web Pro’s are doing.   Many other web professionals know HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, WordPress and all the other credentials we web pro’s may have.  Some know a little about the ART FORM of Driving Internet Traffic to websites known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).   And some even know a little about Internet Marketing & Buyer Mechanics™. However very few can tie ALL of these elements together and actually show real numbers that the websites they’ve created actually achieved their clients actual desired outcomes.

Web Designs that WORK™

Some web companies treat every website in a “one-size-fits-all” approach because they believe it’s easier.  And they’re right, it is easier.   However if you want a website that actually generates new clients, or sells your products you’ll need a website that focuses on results.

I believe once a website’s outcome is established, then everything should support that outcome and design can be a very big part of that.  Not every website should be flashy or modern.  Often times a simpler or more “styled down” approach is more conducive to supporting a website’s outcome.
Example:  I did a Pumpkin Patch website for a farm here in Vancouver Washington.  Now that website looks good, is professional & custom however it is intentionally not “too” polished.  Why?  Because in my believe the journey from Search to Website to Local Business should be as smooth & genuine as possible.  The truth is that Pumpkin Patch is fun, authentic and colorful yet it is a working farm so it also can be earthy & (well) a farm – and the website needed to be a good transition to keep things “real”.  Make sense?  For me, whatever gets us to to the fastest, most efficient & cost effective way possible is how I do it.  Here’s some of my Web Designs that WORK.

Web Development

Web Development is one of those things where you need someone who has a very high attention to detail.  Why?   Because all it takes is one character out of literally millions to cause catastrophic issues.  It truly can be a methodical process to develop code for the internet.  I mean you seriously have to code for all possibilities… AND I LOVE IT!

Yup, it’s another way I love to create.  I’ve done web development on massive national referral networks (ya, I built the entire thing from scratch back in 2006 and it still functions awesomely to date… and it’s core functionality has been virtually untouched since then.  It has however been added to year after year as the system had grown and adapted to new technology requirements).  That network has seen over 3 million visitors to date.  I’ve built simple yet highly useful calculators that have been used by hundreds of thousands of people.  I’ve done development for big companies and small companies, large national projects and personal private websites.

One thing that is common between all of the web development code I’ve done is that it is commented appropriately, it is logical in flow and it performs well.  Here’s some of the Web Development I’ve done.[/one_third][one_third]

Super-Charged SEO™

The truth is, earning Top SEO Ranking is hard work.  Big companies easily spend over $100k per year / per website on SEO and they often still don’t rank well.  Finding someone who does SEO even moderately well is a real find.  Remember the age ol’ saying, “If it seems too good to be true…”  This is doubly true for SEO get ranking fast schemes… buyer beware.

HAVING SAID THAT…  Fast Ranking is possible in the right environments and with the right SEO Knowledge.  I recently got a website Top Rankings (#5 on the first page of Google) in only 3 days on a brand new website.  It can be done but it’s not too common.  However I did follow that up with pulling #1 on all 3 major search engines for their top search term in only 75 days.  Yes that is pretty impressive… I call it my “Golden Trifecta of SEO”.  It’s pretty rare.

Top Rankings Do Matter:

Example: Do a search on Google for “Driving Designs” and you’ll see there are 145,000,000 possible results. However only the first 10 results will foster 89% of the Clicks.  That leaves the other 144,999,990 to fight over the remaining 11%.

It becomes immediately obvious that if your website does not have Top Ranking it’s not going to get very much organic traffic which accounts for around 80% of the clicks from Search traffic as a whole.[/one_third] [one_third_last]

Buyer Mechanics™

Buyer Mechanics™ is an authentic selling strategy that was developed by Driving Designs™.  It utilizes natural human behavior, integrity and being authentic to produce high conversions and clients who love to refer. The broad key concepts of the Buyer Mechanics™ process is:

WordPress Websites

WordPress is used by 56.4% of all the websites who use content management systems and that’s 18.1% of all websites online today.  And that’s quite an impressive number since WordPress has only been around since 2003 and didn’t “really” gain any “real popularity” until 2008. Btw, I started using it in 2009 and have never looked back.  WordPress is seriously that good.

“Back in the day” updating a website or adding functionality was a real pain.  I developed my own CMS (Content Management System) to ease the pain but after I started using WordPress I dropped those efforts entirely.  Why?  Because 1) WordPress is free and 2) WordPress is open source which means EVERYBODY is constantly improving WordPress on (literally) a daily basis.  AND if you know what you’re doing, you can add custom functionality without breaking the core functionality.  There really isn’t a down side to using WordPress… well unless you have an issue with being AWESOME! 😉
